The Annual Meeting is your opportunity to meet the Board of Directors, hear the State of the Council address by the President and CEO, and honor our volunteers and Girl Scouts who have achieved that most prestigious award - the Girl Scout Gold Award. The Annual Meeting is held every year in April.
Please join us in lighting the way to the future!

2008 Girl Scouts ForEver Green

THANK YOU to our volunteers!

This year's Annual Meeting was yet another wonderful success, with many of our dedicated volunteers being honored for their years of service and commitment to Girl Scouting.  Also this year, many Girl Scouts - 37 in all - were awarded the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award for their work in the community! Click here to see who received this wonderful award and to read about their service projects!

This year's Annual Meeting theme "Girl Scouts ForEver Green" highlighted environmental advocacy and responsibility that has been a hallmark of Girl Scouting for decades. Guests of the Annual Meeting went home with live evergreen trees as tokens of appreciation which can be planted anywhere along the peninsula. (See below for planting and care instructions). But being "green" isn't just about trees and flowers. It's about nurturing and caring for yourself and others.  It's about growing as a person, and helping others to grow. And of course, it's one of the official colors of Girl Scouts!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for making Girl Scouting possible for thousands of girls in the Delmarva region!  Because of you, girls continue to to build courage, confidence and character.  Thank you for making the world a better place!

Growing your tree
Grow this tree in a container until it is 2-4 feet tall before planting in a permanent location in the landscape.

Fill a 3-5 gallon container or larger with high quality, well-drained planting soil. Dig a hole for your seedling approximately 3 inches in diameter and 8 inches deep. Place the seedling's root plug into the hole, and fill in soil snugly around the roots. The top of the root plug should be just below the surface. Water well and place in a sunny location. always water your tree thoroughly, but be careful not to over-water - allow the soil in the root zone to become almost dry before additional watering. Your tree will enjoy any high-nitrogen plant food, "18-15-15" is a good nutrient mix.

Good luck and thank you for planting a tree!
Your tree will help the quality of our air, soil and water.
