Fit for a Princess!
Fit for a Princess is a patch program for Junior Girl Scouts. The program focuses on these messages—eat smart and be physically active—and uses reader’s theatre as the message vehicle. The program consists of an activity booklet for each girl that contains the reader’s theatre script, tiara, cooking, physical education and communication activities, Princess Zip patch, Group Leader’s Guide and Family Letter.

Each girl sets and records her patch-earning goal, choosing four individual skill-building experiences from the ten presented. The program can be completed in two regular meetings or in a setting such as day camp or a Saturday event. There are no props or costumes required for reader’s theater, but the Leader’s Guide suggests optional costume, prop and rehearsal ideas for those who want extra games and crafts.

Girls earn the Princess Zip patch by completing the skill-building activities they choose and performing the reader’s theatre as a group for families, a Brownie Troop or other community group.
