Valero recently awarded the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay
Council a $10,000 grant to help fund science and technology
programming for outreach girls at the new Science and Technology
Lodge at Camp Country Center in Hockessin.
The Science and
Technology Lodge, now in the construction phase, is scheduled to
open in Fall 2008. It will give the Girl Scouts the ability to host
cutting edge STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
programs for girls, especially those from low-income families, with
the mission of bridging the gender gap and preparing them for
careers in related fields.
