Camp Country Center, located in Hockessin, Delaware, is home to the Council's new state-of-the-art, environmentally-sustainable Science and Technology Lodge, which offers a variety of science, technology, engineering and math programs for girls. The Lodge is available and ideal for small to medium-sized business meetings, class field trips, programs, educational tours, luncheons and dinners. Camp Country Center Day Camp

Camp Country Center Day Camp offers six weeks of fun-filled, exciting summer camp opportunities. There are several options to choose from with a variety of specialty focuses: Environmental explorations through drama and exploring science and technology in our laboratory. Girls will enjoy activities within their same grade levels and enjoy spending time with caring adults and teen assistants. There are several options for ALL girls entering grades 2-8.

 

WHEN: June 18- 22, July 30-August 3 and August 6-10, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.


COST: $195 per camper. Includes snacks and materials.

The camp fee will be reduced for one camper if an adult family member (age 21+) volunteers for the week. If you would like to volunteer for any of the science camps, please contact Carlyn Nelson, Science Camp Director. Volunteer opportunities are limited, so call as soon as possible. For theater camp, please contact Melissa Cowitt, Drama Camp Director, mcowitt@cbgsc.org.

 

Transportation is available for Council-sponsored Country Center Day Camps only, not Volunteer Day Camp. Pick up and drop off locations will be in Brandywine Hundred, North Wilmington and Newark. Additional fee of $30 per week for transportation. Exact locations will be sent in your confirmation packet.

Join us if you have your Program Aide Pin. Practice the following skills while having fun: group management, young girl inspiration and facilitating program activities. Girls may achieve P.A. recognition.

Counselor In Training I

Learn what to expect from younger campers, teach younger campers outdoor skills and facilitate a camper program. Pre-camp CIT training is required. Girls may receive CIT recognition.

Camp Aide

Join us for a week as an assistant. You must attend pre-camp training. This may fulfill Service Learning Hour requirements and/or Community Service Bar requirements.

 

 

Camp Country Center Volunteer Day Camp

Volunteer Day Camp Walk on the Wild Side Day Camp! This is a camp for ALL girls entering grades 1-12. Girls may only register for one week. This camp is supported and staffed completely by adult volunteers, and is not processed through GSCB for registration.

 

COST: Each session is $85 per week. Optional overnight Thursday at no cost. Extended hours available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 5 p.m. Cost is $5 per day. If you are at least 18 years of age and would like to volunteer as a 5-day volunteer, your first child will attend free and a second for half price.

Girls will enjoy traditional outdoor activities, cooking, crafting and skill building in small group settings. Field trip on Wednesday and optional overnight on Thursday. Girls in grades 1-6 come as campers. Girls in grades 7-12 come as teen leaders.
